Overview

The year was 1980. I had four years of experience with several graphic design firms in Northern California. These firms were run by managers, accountants and sales people. The design seemed to be an after thought. I envisioned a studio run by designers with little or no management structure. A scary thought? I was about to find out.

In May of 1980 my bold experiment began. I was owner, manager, sales person, job planner, print supervisor and designer. As I gathered my staff of designers, each was schooled in all aspects of the job.

Today, my vision is a successful reality. I employ ten designers and one office manager. Clients deal directly with the creative source. And my staff becomes familiar with all aspects of their projects. This formula has led to optimum creative solutions and excellent working relationships.
